SERVICE ACCESS ROAD
The service road/main access trail construction resumed on Tuesday after sixteen inches of snow and below zero night time temperatures delayed work for 12 days.
Wednesday afternoon the heavy equipment left the site and the service road/main access trail construction barricades have been removed. Although at the time of this post the road/trail had not been officially opened.
The Bivouac pathways project is expected to resume this Friday, November 28th with work continuing on Saturday and through the first week of December.
Concrete work has begun today (November 3rd) and for the next 2 weeks the service access road is officially closed from the intersection of the Rim Rock Trail near the picnic shelter down about 300’ to the intersection of the Temporary Trail and the service access road (see the “CLOSED AREA” on the photo below.)
PLEASE USE THE TEMPORARY TRAIL TO REACH THE CHUTE TRAIL INTO THE CANYON.
Any unauthorized person not complying with the upper service access road closure risks receiving a compliance request or citation. The Rope-De-Dope Trail from the Bivy or the Homestead Trail from the turn-around can also be used to access the canyon. Read more...(178 words, 3 images, estimated 43 secs reading time)
