Gusty winds prevailed today, pushing away the smoke of the ongoing Warm Springs grasslands fire and recently erupted Lake Billy Chinook fire.
Blue skies and puffy white clouds were a welcome change. Dust however from the dry conditions made 40 mph wind gusts resemble a scene from the Sahara desert.
With weather temps in the low 70s though and no smoke, it’s tough to complain.

They are a team of race enthusiasts behind the Monkey Face Half Marathon and 4 Mile trail running races held here on Saturday, August 22.

The race takes its name from the park icon, Monkey Face.
The runners made a pair of counter-clockwise loops for the half marathon.
