Loose Bolt on Hemp Liberation

Posted by Mike Volk on 06/19/13

Route condition report e-mailed to SmithRock.com:
Ed and I climbed Hemp Liberation two weeks ago. The second bolt is quiet loose. Moving past the bolt to the good holds out left is a little tricky for someone whose limit is in the upper 5.10 range. If you fall and pull the bolt you are on the ground for sure.

The left bolt of the anchor on Watermark is loose.

Spiderman Buttress Closed

Posted by Mike Volk on 04/26/13

From the Smith Rock State Park office:
A pair of falcons are nesting in the Spiderman Buttress area. Climbing routes and the ground around the base of the nest area are closed but hiking trails remain open.

Falcon's will defend their nest aggressively. They can be a danger to climbers, and vice versa.
