Dog Leash Rules for Climbers and Slackliners

Since dogs can’t be physically with you while climbing or on a slackline, there are special dog leash rules for climbers and slackliners.

Climbing on a multi-pitch route or working on that new long highline?

Fido is confused about dog leash rules for climbers and slackliners While dogs need to be leashed and under control at all times throughout Smith Rock State Park or risk getting a ticket for $147, climbers and slackliners also need to bring a sitter to stay by their leashed pet.

If you leave your unattended leashed dog at the base of a route or line you’ll get a ticket. And in the case of slackliners, we especially don’t want your pet trying to join you.

Keep them safe and save yourself a ticket. Bring a dog-sitter.
