This Friday, October 5, marks 16 years of the annual Oregon Archaeology Celebration (OAC) Friday evening lecture series here at Smith Rock State Park. Your $5 parking pass each time is the only fee. Come for a hike and stay for the free lectures each Friday night in October from 7:00-8:30 PM. Learn about the latest advances in cultural knowledge and scientific techniques being made throughout the field of anthropology.

Round 3 for the Smith Rock Master Plan

The Smith Rock Master Plan is ready for public input once again. The third in a 4-part series of public meetings, Oregon Parks and Rec will provide a revised plan based on the three alternatives that the public, project stakeholders, and OPRD’s Core Team weighed in on between October 2017 and June 2018. There are now confirmed locations for the public open houses in both Redmond and Portland.
