Even if you're not on Facebook anymore, you can still impress your friends with your new knowledge of Smith Rock State Park's explosive past and its breeding raptors

Join Interpretive Naturalist David Vick each weekend starting April 14 and 15 from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM as he answers all of your raptor questions on Saturdays and your geology questions on Sundays on two great programs for kids and adults alike that run through June 2018.

See Smith Rock’s nesting bald eagles through the park's powerful spotting scope and learn about all the other species of raptors that call the park home. Go into the park via the Chute Trail or Canyon Trail and cross the bridge. Make a left onto the River Trail about a 15-minute walk (3/4 mile) downstream from the footbridge.

Explore the dramatic geological events that created Smith Rock. Get all of your general geology questions answered and learn about the Crooked River Super Caldera. Go into the park via the Chute Trail or Canyon Trail. Go to the bottom of the Service Road near the footbridge, about a 10-minute walk from the Welcome Center.
